For some time now a few of my mates have been after doing a trip out to the wrecks where I used to work commercially many moons ago.
Yesterday we managed to get them out to a couple of them. The first stop was the Battleship some 47 miles from Whitby. We sailed at 4am to catch the remainder of the ebb and arrived there at 7.20am. The wreck clearly hadn’t been touched for some time and resulted in some cracking fishing for the lads. The 6 of them ending up with around 450lb of cod!
Best fish fell to Simon England from Barnsley with a cracking cod of 20lb 2oz. A PB for him and the heaviest cod caught from Whitby this year so far and possibly the heaviest cod caught in British waters this year too! Well done to him.
